Expert evaluation

Expert evaluation of the engravings was carried out by the leading in its field Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry, by Dr. Chem. Lubova Belkova and the director of the Institute, Dr. Sc. Ing. Ugis Cabulis. The examination determined the type and the origin of the paper (wood cellulose, reed, fabric), its brightness (ISO from 45% to 70%) and thickness (from 0.15 to 0.35 mm), as well as the date of production (from the second half of the XIX to the 80s of the XX century). The authenticity and quality of the engravings was also confirmed by the art restorers of the Art Museum “Riga Bourse”.
